Prep Your Listing

Getting your home ready for real estate photography isn’t a terribly difficult task.¬† It can be a time consuming task, however. If you aren’t sure what to do or just want to make sure you didn’t forget anything, check my list below to get your home ready for a magazine quality outcome.


  • Move vehicles, basketball hoops, trash cans, realtor signs etc,.
  • Remove any hoses from lawn.
  • Mow and do any landscaping.
  • Pick up any “land mines” if you own pets.
  • Clean all windows on exterior.
  • Pressure wash any areas of dirt.
  • Clean off roof if possible.


  • ¬†Remove as many items as possible.
  • You can hide anything you need in the garage, we don’t photograph those!
  • Replace any mismatched and missing light bulbs.
  • Clean all windows inside.
  • Dust and remove any dog hair from furniture.
  • Remove any signs of pets.
  • Remove family photos (if you wish them to not be in MLS photos).
  • Remove kids names from walls if possible.
  • Conceal any tobacco products or ash trays.
  • Hide any paperwork with your name or info on it.
  • Unplug and put away any air fresheners.
  • Dust the ceiling fans.
  • Put away any dishes.
  • Clean Floors (sweep, mop, vacuum etc.,)
  • Hide any cleaning products.
  • Conceal trash cans or diaper genies.
  • Close all toilet lids.

10 minutes before session

  • Put away any charger cables to phones or tablets.
  • Turn off all ceiling fans.
  • Open all blinds and curtains.
